Drawn arc stud welding systems weld fasteners by striking an arc, then lifting the fastener and then plunging the fastener into the molten material after a specified time.
These systems use a ceramic ferrule to contain the molten material or can use an inert gas as a shield. They can weld studs from 1/4" diameter to 1 1/4", according to the power source in the welding machine. These systems have adjustments for weld current and lift time.
The current and lift functions are used to adjust the welder to weld different diameter studs.
